RELAX IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Tucked away up a long private access driveway on our 260 acre Devonshire award winning farm and bursting with rural charm, The Grange and The Deer Den are the perfect choice for a peaceful and relaxing break. The Grange has its own 34 ft heated swimming pool a 30 second walk from the house and open year round, and The Den Den has a lovely wood fired hot tub.
Added to this, both properties are nestled in their own large fenced gardens with trees and beautiful countryside all around.
As you're a stone's throw from our wood, you'll go to sleep listening to the hoots of the owls. You'll soon see why we won a 'Most Beautiful Farm' award at the House of Lords.
We have lots of wildlife on the farm and we regularly spot deer, rabbits, foxes, kite and buzzards, among many others. Our dairy cows and pet chickens and geese will be your only neighbours.
Both properties are well connected, with Exeter and Taunton only 25 - 30 minutes by car Bristol an hour away and London 3-4 hours by car or train. We are only 15 minutes away from two large National Trust properties (Killerton and Knightshayes). There is a 600 acre wood only 15 minutes away (Ashclyst) and several beaches only 30 minutes away (Beer, Exmouth, Sidmouth, Budleigh and Lyme Regis). Other local attractions include a wildlife park featuring a 'walkover' bear and wolf feature only 3 miles away reachable by bike or car (Escot Wildwood Devon) and The Bear Trail family assault course. Horse riding is available 10 minutes way at Hitt's Barton, as well as 30 minutes away at Budleigh Salterton.
A walk billed as one of Devon's finest crosses the farm. A six mile circular route, it takes you through two local villages across the fields (Clyst Hydon and Plymtree). The Blacksmith's Arms, a local pub, is also reachable on foot by traversing 15 minutes across the fields and they serve drinks and pub grub. The Five Bells, which is listed as one of the UK's top 50 Gastro pubs can be reached in 5 minutes by car or 30 minutes on foot. We are also only 20 minutes from The Pig restaurant at Gittisham where there are also spa facilities available.
All major supermarkets deliver here and there are other local farm style suppliers who deliver weekly.
For large events, it's possible to book The Grange for 10 people and The Deer Den for 8 people. They are situated on the same private access lane approximately 300 metres from one another so when both properties are booked by the same group, it would be possible to share the hot tub and swimming pool facilities across both properties.
We're committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible. On our farm we've planted over 10,000 trees, in addition to a native species orchard and a butterfly wood. Next year we hope to be part of a solar project locally which would see a renewable energy installation at the farm powering lots of homes, doing our bit to help the UK to address climate change.
The Deer Den is part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, helping the farm to diversify into tourism and promoting rural growth.

AT THE HEART OF NATURE
THIRD OF A MILE PRIVATE LANE ACCESS
As you can see in the clip above, there is loads of wildlife around The Grange and The Deer Den. These are just a few of the lucky visitors we have been fortunate enough to catch on camera.
The properties are the perfect place to relax and enjoy existing in harmony with nature for a while. As you can see in the other video, there is also a beautiful long third of a mile private access lane entrance to The Grange and The Deer Den.
When you visit you can relax in the enormous 34 ft heated swimming pool at The Grange or come and unwind in the wood fired hot tub at The Deer Den. Alternatively, cook up a feast on the firepit at either property, and look after hens Martha, Betty and Bertha at The Deer Den and Maisy, Milly and Gertrude at The Grange. The chickens will lay lovely eggs for your breakfast and they will sometimes be warm to touch - eggs don't come much fresher than that!
Outside you will be able to do lots of stargazing too as there is no light pollution so you can sit back and enjoy the view, perhaps from one of the deckchairs also provided in the quarter acre private gardens in each property.
There's plenty to do outdoors and on rainy days as there's a TV, Bluetooth speaker, wifi (Fibre broadband) and a games box. If you're working from home there is also a desk and chair in each house.
The Deer Den has 4 bedrooms (including one downstairs bedroom and walk in shower) and The Grange has 5 bedrooms. Beds can be changed to suit your needs as either luxurious Superking sized beds or 2 x singles in each. There is underfloor heating throughout at The Deer Den as well as 3 fitted bathrooms (including 2 freestanding baths and 1 walk in shower), as well as a steamy outdoor shower on the decking overlooking the lush meadow. At The Grange there are 2 showers, one family bathroom including a luxurious freestanding bath and two separate toilets. Inside both houses you will find a large electric induction range cooker, a dishwasher, large sized washing machine, fridge freezer, coffee machine, toaster and iron. Basic cleaning products are also provided for use during your stay. The Deer Den is also eco-friendly, running on an air source heat pump and The Grange runs on woodchips.
For families, a travel cot and high chair are provided on request.
As both gardens are fenced, it is the perfect place for your furry friends to stay too.
